Amy Winehouse Needs Doctors Approval To Play Glastonbury Festival

Amy Winehouse will need to be given the all clear by doctors before stepping back onto the stage this weekend, he spokesperson has said.

The singer, who has been diagnosed with traces of emphysema, is scheduled to play the Nelson Mandela concert in London on Friday (June 27th) and Glastonbury the following day.

Her spokesperson told the BBC that her appearance at both events “looks likely”, but added that she is still awaiting “the final sign-off” from doctors.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Winehouse was discharged from hospital yesterday in order to rehearse for her appearances.

Despite being warned by doctors that smoking could extenuate her condition, the singer was pictured smoking in a car on the way to the rehearsal studio.

In a recent interview, Winehouse's father, Mitch, appeared optimistic about his daughter's chances of making a full recovery, however, revealing that she is already “responding brilliantly to treatment”.

Winehouse was admitted to hospital last Monday (June 16th) after she fainted while “doing admin” in her North London home.
